About the Centre

Welcome to Bluebird Soldiers Hill, where we believe in creating a fun, positive and nurturing atmosphere for your child to grow into a confident little learner.

From the moment you walk into our centre you are greeted by our dedicated admin member who loves to make you a hot drink in the morning and have a chat. Tea, coffee and biscuits and slices are always available in our parent foyer for anyone wanting to grab a snack on the go or take a moment for themselves to relax before heading to or from their busy days

One of the many highlights we enjoy regularly, are our community walks and Forest school program. Our children are provided the opportunity to explore the wonders of the Gong-Gong, a bushland Reservoir in Brown Hill run by Central Highlands water. During our excursions to Forest School the Children are able to explore nature and wildlife, initiating their own experiences with natural materials being their only tools.

Our long-standing in house chef provides nutritious and delicious meals daily. You can often find her having a chat in the hallway with our Families, while preparing a yummy hot lunch for the Children that day. She also engages in regular cooking classes in our Studio’s alongside the Educators.

Our experienced and dedicated Curriculum Management Team, guide and embed our Oxanda rituals and projects throughout the Centre, guiding and mentoring new Educators to join our Team.

Our Educators are passionate about constantly upskilling their Qualifications – it is because of this that our Team now hold’s 3 Educators Studying their Bachelor in Early Education, along with our Qualified Teacher.

In supporting of the diverse culture of families within our Soldiers Hill community, we engage in regular cultural celebrations that are included in our Educational programs. Acceptance and cultural awareness are embedded, as the children begin to explore diversity and inclusion, we invite you to share your family history with us.

We pride ourselves on our open-door policy and the partnerships we create with our families.
We will always be available for advice and support, working side by side with you, to inspire your child’s learning journey.

Meet the Centre Manager

Hello, my name is Geraldine and I am thrilled to be the Centre Manager for Bluebird Soldiers Hill.

I have been working in the Early Education Sector for many years and I am also a very proud mum of 5 beautiful and cheeky children of my own!

During my time in Early Childhood, I have worked in many varied positions ranging from an Assistant Educator, Assistance Centre Manager and of course my current role of Centre Manager. I have also worked in child protection, which was both challenging and very rewarding.

However, my true passion lies with the community culture you create within a Centre, working alongside the Children and Families – this is what bought me back to Early Childhood Education.

I am passionate about providing High Quality Care and Education with environments that are thoughtful and genuine – provoking each child’s natural sense of wonder.

I believe caring for other people’s children is a privilege and I understand that leaving your children in the care of others is never an easy option.

My aim is to ensure that when you bring your children here, you leave knowing they are going to be cared for, engaged and respected until they are safely wrapped back in your arms.

I look forward to meeting you all and creating partnerships which will last a lifetime!

If you have any questions or queries – my door is always open!
